Community Guidelines

Welcome to the UPAN Community

UPAN exists to reconnect Africans and the global African diaspora through knowledge, collaboration and opportunity.

Every member helps shape the culture of this community. By treating one another with respect, sharing knowledge generously and working together, we create an environment where everyone can learn, grow and contribute.

We ask every member to read and follow these guidelines so that UPAN remains a positive, welcoming and productive space for all.

Our Community Principles

Everything we do is guided by six simple principles.

🤝 Respect Everyone

Treat every member with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, nationality, profession, experience or opinions.

Healthy debate is encouraged.

Personal attacks are not.

🌍 Build Together

UPAN is built on collaboration rather than competition.

Share opportunities.

Support others.

Celebrate success.

Help create opportunities instead of simply consuming them.

📚 Share Knowledge

Knowledge grows when it is shared.

If you've learned something valuable, help someone else.

If you're looking for help, don't be afraid to ask.

🚀 Take Action

Learning is only valuable when it leads to action.

We encourage members to:

  • Build projects

  • Apply for opportunities

  • Develop new skills

  • Create businesses

  • Help strengthen Africa's future

💙 Support the Community

Celebrate other members.

Encourage newcomers.

Offer constructive feedback.

Small acts of support create a stronger network for everyone.

🌱 Leave Things Better Than You Found Them

Every contribution should make the community a little more valuable.

Ask thoughtful questions.

Give thoughtful answers.

Share useful resources.

Leave a positive impact.

Our Approach to Moderation

Our moderators are here to help—not to police conversations.

Whenever possible we will:

  1. Educate before enforcing.

  2. Encourage constructive behaviour.

  3. Help members post in the correct space.

  4. Protect the community from harmful behaviour.

Repeated or serious breaches may lead to content removal or suspension.

Help Us Build the Community We All Want

UPAN is more than a platform.

It is a network built by its members.

The strongest communities are not created by moderators—they are created by people who choose to support one another, share opportunities and work together.

Thank you for helping make UPAN a welcoming, respectful and inspiring place for Africans and the global African diaspora.

Together, we learn. Together, we build. Together, we grow.
